Nick Kiloh

State League Men's Coach

Nick first started playing lacrosse for MCC when he was 10 years old, and has been involved with the club as a player or a coach ever since. One of his highlights as a player was touring Canada with an Australian youth development team when he was 16. At 19, he coached the U17s, and he’s been coaching junior teams ever since. He loves giving back to the club that has given so much to him, and says that nothing is as rewarding as watching kids, he helped recruit from school clinics, develop into talented players making their debut in the senior leagues. Nick’s coaching inspiration is Kenny Nichols, who Nick considers to be a friend as well as his biggest mentor.

Although Nick no longer plays lacrosse, he knows that he will always be involved with MCC Lacrosse at some level. This year, he is coaching the U18 Men and Men’s State League teams.

Adam Burrowes

State League Reserves Men's Coach

Adam’s love for the game of lacrosse began in 1979 when a friend introduced him to the sport. His team (Footscray Lacrosse Club) went on to win the U14s championship that year, and this moment is still one of Adam’s favourite lacrosse memories. The coaches from his early years have also always held a special place in his heart, and the support and encouragement he received at the start of his lacrosse career are the reason why he continues to love this sport today.

Adam is a veteran coach, who has been coaching since 1991, when he first became involved with the Junior Development at his local club. Lucky for us, Adam made the move to MCC in 2017, where he continues to share his passion, knowledge and expertise with the kids he coaches.

Barry Nugent

Women's Championship Coach

Barry Nugent, known to most people as Nudge, has been playing lacrosse since 1978, when he was 13 years old. He moved to MCC Lacrosse in 1987, and first started coaching in 1983 to help out the club. ‘Helping out the club’ is something that Nudge has become very good at, and his hard work and dedication to the MCC Lacrosse Sporting Section was recognised in 2019 when he was awarded the Hans Ebling Award and became a Life Member of the section.

As a young player, Nudge was inspired by his first coach Les Goding, and later by Graham Ross who taught him that using your brain to read lacrosse is as important as using your athleticism. As a coach himself, Nudge loves the team camaraderie and encouraging players to enjoy the game while also teaching them how to improve their skills.

Nudge’s favourite lacrosse memories include winning Division 1 in 2005, and coaching both his daughters during their lacrosse careers. This year, Nudge is playing on the Men’s Community Shield team, and coaching the Women’s Championship team.

Peter "Rio" Allen

Men's Community Cup Coach

What doesn't Rio do for the club? In addition to acting as Chairperson of the MCC Lacrosse committee, playing at any level he is asked to and helping to build the club from the juniors on up, Rio is also the coach of our Community Cup team. We are so proud of this team of veteran players, first-time-in-a-long-time players, first-time ever players, father-son duos and all the amazing team mates that make this one special. Rio is a perfect lead-by-example coach, each week adding to his outragoeous games played numbers! We are so lucky to have him on the field leading our CC men this year!
